At the Mihaylo College of Business and Economics, we like to help our students transition into the rigors of graduate student life. A proper segue into advanced education can be stressful, and is therefore one of the most critical periods for any newly admitted student. To offer some relief, we held the Mihaylo Experience and the Welcome Seminar; two separate events designed to familiarize and welcome our students.
The Mihaylo Experience was an exclusive event for new and current graduate students, which featured presentations, Q&A, and networking sessions by a select group of faculty and current graduate students. It was an excellent opportunity to meet and network with new MBA and Masters Programs students, established professionals, esteemed staff, and peers. After the event, students were treated to pizza and mingled with fellow Mihaylo College friends and associates.
The beginning of the spring 2012 semester was kicked off in true Mihaylo fashion with the new student Welcome Seminar, on January 20th and 21st, located in Mihaylo Hall. The new admits were introduced to the school’s policies and procedures, and treated to various presentations by faculty. The first night concluded with a networking reception, located at Cantina Lounge, where faculty, business leaders, and students mingled and discussed business topics. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive and many of the attendees expressed their gratitude for the 2-day learning experience.
At the Mihaylo College of Business and Economics, we take student success very seriously and try to provide as many opportunities for students to network and adapt. The Mihaylo Experience and Welcome Seminar are just two of the events we have recently offered. Stay tuned for more networking and business opportunities.
