TESTIMONIALS

“The professionalism that these young men and women posses and their willingness to work around our schedules was truly impressive…we have already benefited from their work more than we did from a professional consulting company that cost us around $50,000 and weeks of our time.”

Jeff W. Johnson, President EnerTech Systems, Inc.

“The results were well worth our time and effort, in fact, we would consider doing it again in a heartbeat. They worked together like a fine-tuned professional sports team, creating a plan of action, gathering research and offering avenue for improvement.”

Chad M. McLain, Vice President, Homeowner Construction

“They began this project with hours of fact-finding missions…they made the effort of tracking down my Showroom Managers that are located throughout Orange County. My staff was shocked at what they uncovered and how much they knew about our business in such a short time.”

Michael Jenkins, President/CEO, Renaissance Doors & Windows

“We felt the services they provided to our firm were comparable to any professional consulting firm we might have hired. They were thorough, knowledgeable and professional.”

Kim Jorgenson, Plums Café and Catering

“The students introduced windows of opportunity that we had not considered before. We consider the final report to be a great benefit to our company.”

James Hensman, Cal-Therm Corp.

“The team members were knowledgeable and supportive of our organization’s specific needs. I think the team was responsible for our improved profit. It was 7 percent last year and 2, 3 percent in previous years.

Mr. Richard B. Finnie II, M. R. Mold & Engineering Corp.

We look forward to working with you but first we need some information from you. We will be in touch soon with more information about how we can create a great consulting project for your company.

CSUF Entrepreneurship Needs Clients

[A message from Director Jackson]

I apologize for bothering you on a Saturday but this is important.

The semester has begun and we need more clients for our consulting program within the next week. We have worked with startups with no revenue to corporations with over $100MM in gross sales but the key success factor to these projects are clients who are open to the student-consulting process.

Specifically, we are looking for companies that are seeking improvements in the areas of Finance/Accounting and HR/Leadership. These are vitally important components of any business and I am confident that our students can produce stellar consulting reports for our clients.

If you have a business that you think would be a good fit for this program or know of another that would be please contact Ms. Charlesetta Medina, Client Project Specialist, at (657) 278-8243 or by responding to this email.

Sincerely,

JJ

P.S. Please make sure to spread the word to your network. We are looking for motivated businesses to work with this semester.

Startup Business Development Office Hours with Jim Cooper August 26

Jim CooperJim Cooper is a busy guy. The last time I checked his resume he was mentoring in at least a half dozen different locations including the CSUF Startup Incubator. Add on to that all of his professional activities and I’m amazed he has time to sleep and eat and shower (I’ve seen him do the second and based off his smell I assume he does the latter; I can’t attest to the first). All of this activity is because he is in high demand in many startup circles and he will be holding office hours at the CSUF Startup Incubator in Placentia on August 26 from 10am to 4pm. Come say “hi.”

Launching a business can be an extremely difficult thing to do, especially if you haven’t done something like it before. That’s why we are making office hours with CSUF Startup Incubator mentor and speaker Jim Cooper available.

During these office hours, entrepreneurs will have the chance to sit down with experienced startup mentor Jim Cooper for a half an hour to get help with their business. A half an hour may not seem like a long time but Jim is full of ideas and advice and we’re sure that he’ll be able to help your business.

To make an appointment, please click the registration button above and pick the half hour timeslot that works the best for you.

(One note of caution: Help provided during office hours is limited to the time available during office hours and to get the best results out of this time we strongly recommend that you have a more permanent mentor, like the ones that are attached to our Residents at the CSUF Startup Incubator.)

Jim Cooper is the founder of Conscientia Research. As the founder of Conscientia Research, his main mission can be described by the following:

“Our goals are to make your business successful and competitive by employing research to understand markets, manage risk through intelligence analysis, and provide you with recommendations for decision making, so you don’t have to rely on assumptions about how your market works.”

Mr. Cooper is a mentor to some of our Residents at the CSUF Startup Incubator. He is also mentor and pitching coach at PortTech Los Angeles, advisor at Lab Launch Inc., mentor and Lean Startup Panelist for the NSF’s i-Corps CSUPerb STEM program for the CSU system, he mentors and coaches energy and transport related startups at the Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator, an Entrepreneur in Residence at PortTech Los Angeles, and a Business Development Advisor at Lab Launch Inc.

A New CSUF School Year Begins!

A new school year always brings so much excitement because there are many opportunities to make consequential things happen. Let’s build on the successes of the last school year and make this one even better!

We are wrapping up our client recruitment efforts but we still need a couple more clients ready to engage with our bright and energetic students. These consulting projects are the cornerstone of our students’ educational experience at CSUF and are our secret sauce by connecting real life business situations with academic lessons. If you are interested in becoming a client of CSUF Consulting or know of a business that would benefit from our services please get in touch with Client Project Specialist Charlesetta Medina at (657) 278-8243 or by replying to this email for more information.

The CSUF Startup Incubator continues to grow and assist entrepreneurs in achieving their goals. We have ambitious growth plans with our new location at the CSUF Irvine campus that we will be launching. And don’t forget about our events and office hours that we have scheduled every week at the Incubator, these are great opportunities to learn something valuable and to network with other motivated entrepreneurs, students, and professionals.

In October, we are partnering with the National Startup League and the Center for Economic Education to host the fourth Titan Fast Pitch competition. This competition brings together university and high school entrepreneurs for a fun day of pitching business concepts. Many lessons are learned and there are scholarships to be had. In the spring semester, the CSUF Business Plan Competition kicks off with the goal of crowning the best business concept at CSUF.

We have a lot of great things in store for this school year and while this is only the first day of the fall semester I have a feeling that this will be another great year for CSUF Entrepreneurship thanks to you and everyone else in our community!

John Bradley Jackson
