CSUF Startup Incubator Investment Panels – Q3 2015

Resident Casey Farmen at CSUF Startup Incubator

CSUF Startup Incubator Resident Casey Farmen pitching his startup, Rescuewares, at our recent Investor Panel

Every quarter, we provide our Residents (startups launching in the CSUF Startup Incubator) the opportunity to present to a panel of judges made up of our mentors, staff, other Residents, and guests from various industries including investors. We call these panels our CSUF Startup Incubator Investment Panels and the raison d’être for these panels is to get our Residents as much feedback as possible from a group representing many different perspectives. We hosted our most recent one of these panels earlier this month at the CSUF Startup Incubator location in Placentia and you can see some of the pictures from that event below.

What I really liked about the proceedings that day was hearing all of the ideas from our Residents. I have known each of them since they joined the Incubator, if not earlier, and attending these panels helps me to see how much these startups have evolved. Many of them have made dramatic pivots in their business models while others have simply fine tuned their approaches.

Bringing people together can be an extremely positive thing and that was definitely the case for the CSUF Startup Incubator Mixer we had this previous Saturday. Almost all of our Residents were in attendance and they had the chance to network with mentors, students, other entrepreneurs, and other people from our community. It was an exciting event and we think it had a lot of value to it as well.

We plan on holding these events multiple times every year so that we can bring together as many people as possible. To keep up to date on what events the CSUF Startup Incubator and Center for Entrepreneurship are hosting please sign up for our Newsletter.
