Welcome, Dr. Pedro Amaral

Pedro-Amaral-photo“Pedro Amaral studies economic development from a macroeconomic perspective. He is particularly interested in studying the effects of financial intermediation frictions on economic performance as well as episodes of the Great Depression of 1929-1933 in countries where it occurred.

A native of Lisbon, Portugal, Dr. Amaral earned a PhD in economics from the University of Minnesota in 2002. Before joining the Economics Department at Cal State Fullerton, he was an Assistant Professor of economics at Southern Methodist University in Dallas and a Senior Research Economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland.”
