Mr. Tran was named president of Pacific Life and elected to the boards of directors of Pacific Mutual Holding Company and Pacific LifeCorp in April 2012. As president, he has overall responsibility for the financials, investments, and strategic planning for Pacific Life, as well as for overseeing Pacific Life’s non-insurance businesses: Aviation Capital Group, Pacific Asset Management, and Pacific Global Advisors.

Mr. Tran joined Pacific Life as treasurer in 1990 and was promoted to vice president and treasurer in 1991. In 1995, Mr. Tran was named vice president of Corporate Development and treasurer, to reflect his added areas of responsibilities in mergers, acquisitions, and strategic new businesses. Read More….

Mr. Robert Curtis is currently the Head of the Strategic Risk Solutions Group (SRS) for Zurich Global Corporate in North America (GCiNA). Mr. Curtis is responsible for the
overall underwriting, profitability, and operations of SRS. SRS is comprised of the following key product offerings: Integrated Risk (Multi-line/Multi-year Programs),
North America Mergers and Acquisitions (Financial Lines and Excess Casualty), and Structured /Non-Traditional Programs. He has expertise in the development
of Integrated Risk/Financial Insurance, Alternative Risk Programs, and Index-Linked Solutions.

Mr. Curtis holds a B.A. in Economics from Pacific Lutheran University and a MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management. He was awarded the Associate in Risk Management (A.R.M.) and Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriters (CPCU) designations in 1994 and 1996, respectively.

Mr. Thoman will be discussing his experiences in commercial property insurance and loss-control consulting and property loss prevention in support of an organization’s financial success. He will approach these topics through FM Global’s unique approach to managing risk.

In his current position, which he has held since 2007, Mr. Thoman is responsible for the management, leadership, and direction of insurance and engineering operations within FM Global’s geographical territory of Arizona; Southern California; Hawaii; Clark County, Nevada; and New Mexico.

Mr. Thoman has a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering from UC Santa Barbara and is a license Professional Engineer (P.E.), fire protection, in the state of California.

Stephen P. D’Arcy

Cal State Fullerton’s Mihaylo College of Business and Economics has named Stephen P. D’Arcy of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign as the first to be accorded the title Robitaille Chair in Risk and Insurance.

The endowed chair is the second for both the university and Mihaylo College and stems from a fundraising drive launched by the CSUF Center for Insurance Studies. Frank Robitaille, president of independent insurance agency Armstrong/Robitaille/Riegle, is the largest contributor to the center’s ongoing program campaign with a donation of nearly $2 million…read more.
