Accountant Turned Professor Looks to Make a Difference

After dedicating nearly nine years to the corporate accounting and tax world, Maia Farkas was encouraged by a mentor to pursue another career: teaching. At the time Farkas was also working on her master of taxation at the University of San Diego.

Farkas understood that as an employee her purpose was to serve the needs of the company, but she says, “I wanted more; I wanted to make a difference.”

She is now teaching at Mihaylo College of Business and Economics as  an assistant professor of accounting and making that difference she once hoped for. For the full story on Farkas, click here.
