The very first Website Competition at CSUF commences next week on November 10th. The beauty of this competition (at least for me) is that it really doesn’t require any technical web savvy or know-how. You don’t need to be a computer programmer; all you need is to have an idea, and Crexendo will teach you how to launch a successful website.
So how is success measured in this competition? The short answer is traffic. All the details are available at http://up.crexendo.com/csuf, but basically, the idea is that a popular site is a successful site. At the information session last Friday, Crexendo told us that this competition is not about who has the best business plan (or a business plan at all), who has the best design, or who is the best at writing code (in fact, most contestants probably won’t be writing any code at all). This competition is about learning how to exploit Crexendo’s software. They hope to make loyal customers out of us! But for now, the service is free, and stays free for six months following the end of the competition. Which means the worst that could happen in this competition is that you don’t win a prize but you get a free website to use for whatever you want. That’s what we like to call a win-win scenario!
Crexendo also shared plenty of useful and interesting information about how to make a website popular, which I will discuss in an upcoming blog about the wonderful world of internet marketing!!!
